With the damned iPod still MIA, I’ve reverted back to an old portable CD player I have, with earbuds I borrowed from my son. The arrangement is, shall I say, not satisfactory. The earbuds suck and the CD player’s volume control is little dodgy, jumping up to full, tinny¬†volume on a whim. Eventually I just yank the earbuds out and walk unaccompanied, my ears ringing.

Still, I give thanks that I was able to put up with the thing long enough to hear the one song I wanted to listen to, Ray Davies’ “Thanksgiving Day.” Which I offer here with my wishes for a great Thanksgiving to everyone out there.
